SPENT MATCHES by Roy Moran

I chose to review this book simply because no one else seemed to. I kept waiting for someone among the BOOKLOOK reviewers to post a review but after about a month there was still no takers. By the time I had received SPENT MATCHES by Roy Moran in the mail there were a few reviews posted. As I began reading it I could understand why the delay. The book is not something I would rush to the store to purchase because I just do not want to read another book about what is wrong with churches and how do we fix it.
This is a good book, well written. If you are an introspective person who wants to evaluate your faith you might want to read it. If you are a church leader or considering entering the ministry I would suggest you read this book.
I don’t think the information presented is “new” thus SPENT MATCHES is more of a reminder of what those who are followers of Jesus should be doing. I think the book serves as a course correction, unfortunately I doubt the individuals who need to read this book will.
I don’t know if SPENT MATCHES will help ignite the fire in the spiritually dissatisfied however the book does have valid points to make. I am honestly not excited about this book HOWEVER I still recommend it. Every now and then a book reviewer will come across a book this is good but not for her, this book is that book for me.
