RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 16, 2016 |
THE CHANGING SEASON is a novel about a young man, and his dog who is looking forward to graduating high school and going to college. The transition from High school to college is not as easy as Billy thought it was going to be; life happens and for him it happens in an exciting but not necessarily good way.
My first impression upon receiving THE CHANGING SEASON by Steven Manchester in the mail: I don’t like movies or books about pets. My second impression: I really don’t care about the accolades presented, even if they are on the New York Times Bestsellers list. BUT I had agreed to review the book so I started reading the 273 page novel.
It is a very good book, great for those in Middle or High school. (DO YOUNG PEOPLE READ BOOK REVIEWS?) The dialog makes sense and the pace of the story line allows for excellent plot development. The food for thought story is very believable.
I am not a reviewer of young adult books. I don’t know if my opinion makes a difference to the young man or woman who is looking for a good book to read. (A mature adult you will enjoy it too!) Without telling the story, which would be a spoiler, there is no way to do THE CHANGING SEASON justice. All I can say is: I recommend the book.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
