THINKING OUTSIDE THE "FOX"

I don't watch much news, at least not the traditional network / cable news programs. For many years I was a devoted FOX News watcher, I had my personalities I loved to hate and people I swore by.  Things began to change on FOX and I began to watch less and less.

I prefer to listen to Sean Hannity on his radio show instead of his television program on FOX.  He can be found on iHeart radio Monday thru Friday

Glen Beck was the first casualty of my personal "I am not watching this anymore" about a year later he was off the air at FOX News. But, now I listen to him via YouTube and am debating if I should subscribe to his  BLAZETV.

Even the vindicated Bill O'Reilly is doing better now that he is no longer with FOX.

What has got me thinking about cable news in general is the fact that I enjoy John Stossel more now than I eve did when he was on FOX NEWS.  If you ever visit his website, STOSSEL TV, You will discover what happens when news reporters are allowed to speak freely.

Many people love their news, however, Conservatives must learn how to think outside of the FOX! FOX news is a moderate news source with a few Conservative commentators.  Many news outlets can be found on  YouTube. The news sources I listen to are credible and offer more in depth stories if you subscribe to their website.  Just to name a few:

  • OAN- One News Network: YouTube, also available on ROKU, FIRESTICK, and other non-traditional cable and internet sources.
  • THE DAILY LEDGER: YouTube
  • THE LARRY ELDER SHOW - YouTube

One of the best things about ditching cable is the discovery of life outside of the FOX.

YOUTUBE REVIEW: ONE WAY POOR PEOPLE CAN BUY LAND WITH NO MONEY

I started following Becky’s Homestead when I was researching soap making and after watching a few episodes I subscribed to her channel. This video: ONE WAY POOR PEOPLE CAN BUY LAND WITH NO MONEY is well worth watching even if you do not want a homestead.

YOUTUBE REVIEW: SCRIVENER BOOTCAMP by Jason Hough

If you write there are numerous programs available to help organize your thoughts including the old fashioned pen and paper. For the past two or three years I have been using the program SCRIVENER and though I love it I know that I am not taking advantage of all that it has to offer.
SCRIVENER BOOTCAMP Produced by Jason Hough is the best overview of the program I have seen, and I have watched a few.

Steamed live October 26, 2014 in preparation of National Novel Writing Month a.k.a. NaNoWriMo as a way to help those who take advantage of the 30 day FREE trial period SCRIVENOR has offerfed in the past. the video is informative sharing with the viewer what is really necessary to write a novel using SCRIVENER.   is held annually during the month of November, during that time writers throughout this nation  and the world attempt to write a novel in a month. The goal is 50,000 words in 30 days!
I thought it very appropriate to encourage writers to take advantage of the free trial period Scrivener usually offers to participants and for those individuals who have told me they want to write a book

YOUTUBE REVIEW: KINDLE vs SMASHWORDS and why I left Smashwords Produced by Networks From A to Z

I would be lying if I said I make a lot of money selling my books on Smashwords, I do not. I was drawn to this video because I was toying with the idea of using Create Space to publish my next book which is an affiliate of Amazon.

Mihnea a Romanian living in Bangkok who writes and does YouTube videos discusses his experiences with publishing using Smashwords and Kindle Select. He shares with the viewer his expectations, disappointments and the decisions he made to promote his career as a writer. New writers will be surprised to discover how much money he made after over 2 years of publishing.

This 5 minutes and 20 seconds video is informative, entertaining, and produced very well.

DON'T FORGET TO "THUMBS UP" AND SUBSCRIBE TO HIS CHANNEL : Networks from A to Z

I had already pulled 3 of my books off of Smashwords.

YOUTUBE REVIEW: A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE WORLD OF SELF PUBLISHING

A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE WORLD OF SELF-PUBLISHING uploaded by  Full Sail University is an excellent discussion on publishing a book as well music.
This is a must watch for those who are considering publishing a book. There is general information regarding: traditional publishing, self publishing and independent publishing. Because of my personal experience over the past five years I appreciate 100% of what was said. Even the discussion on independent music producers made sense to me.
What I did not know about was the music aspects of self-producing, apparently writers and musicians have a lot in common.  If you are a musician this video is well worth your watching; don’t fast forward past the writing discussions because the concepts are the same.

This is the first of what will be many reviews of what I watch on YouTube. I would encourage you to “Like” and “Subscribe” to the channels that you watch, this serves as encouragement to the individual posting as well as their ratings. For those who earn money on YouTube it helps with the quality of advertisers they receive and thus increases their revenues which also serves as encouragement. Posting a video is not easy.
