NKJV SPIRIT-GILLED LIFE BIBLE Published by Thomas Nelson

Bibles are Bibles are Bibles are Bibles..... Aside from the different translations- King James, New King James, NIV, and so forth- many people just grab the first Bible they see on the shelf. Far too many people don’t own a print Bible, opting for an electronic device to present the Word to them BUT for those who desire to study the word of God Thomas Nelson has published the NKJV SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE BIBLE - Kingdom Equipping Through the Power of the Word; Jack W. Hayford Executive Editor, this is the revised and updated 3rd edition.

I am reviewing the elegant black genuine leather NKJV SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE BIBLE a book guaranteed to make any Bible collector stand in line to get their copy. (Not everyone has to have the latest cell phone!)  The thumb index, tabs I call them, are a luxury item I have not seen in a Bible in decades and with 3 ribbons to mark you place it is definitely worthy of at least taking it for a spin! (I am full of metaphors today!)

When a person declares I have my sword and holds up his Bible if you see the NKJV SPIRIT FILLED LIFE BIBLE you will know it is double edged. The contributors of this edition includes a host of men and women known throughout Christiandom for their knowledge of Scripture and their ability to teach it.

The NKJV SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE BIBLE contains commentary and lessons designed to feed your soul is food for the soul. The book of Books highlight: Kingdom Dynamics; Word Wealth; Praying the Word; Truth in Action.  The Concordance is legible and more extensive than other Bibles I have seen. I rarely look at the maps however you will not be disappointed if you look at one both in text and at the end of the Book. As with many Bibles there are cross-references to some verses and footnotes.

If you were looking to purchase a great Bible for yourself or as a gift to that Bible enthusiast you know this has to be it or at least in the running.       -written by Marsha L F Randolph

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. DARK VESSEL BY D. I. Telbat

Dark Vessel (The COIL Series) is the fourth in a series of books by D. I. Telbat that describes the missions of C.O.I.L. an organization out to help Christians in distress. It is a Christian suspense novel which means blood and gore, sex and violence are not incorporated within the pages of this ebook, nor the others in the series. Despite the absence of what most popular novelist believe are necessary to make a book worth reading, I promise you, you will not miss the absence of these “marketing gimmicks.”  I believe the lack of these secular exploits improves the flow of the story line.
As with the other books in the series Dark Vessel (The COIL Series) is filled with suspense, action and of course an exciting yet purposeful plot.
I so appreciate the writings of D. I. Telbat which is why he is one of the few fiction writers whose books I will review without hesitation. I would have been surprised if the book had been anything but exciting. I received a complimentary ebook in exchange for an honest review. Despite my obvious bias I recommend Dark Vessel (The COIL Series); because the book is that good.
I would have to caution you that it would be best that you read the other three in the series before reading Dark Vessel (The COIL Series) . In the following order: Dark Liason: A Christian Suspense Novel; Dark Hearted; Dark Rule then Dark Vessel. Like any book in a series it can be very irritating to read a book and then discover you like the story line and then have to play catch-up.

WOUNDED BY GOD'S PEOPLE by Anne Graham Lutz

Sometimes the truth hurts and the truth is that Christians often hurt Christians. “Wounded by God's People: Discovering How God's Love Heals Our Hearts ” written by Anne Graham Lotz is an excellent lesson in how those of us who have been the victim of Christian opinion can move on while defining how Christians hurt other Christians.
One of my many ‘soap box’ issues is the judgmental nature of many Christians who believe they are the experts as to how a Christian should behave but think they should use Social Media to spread their opinions to as many people as possible. It does not occur to these individuals that their words cause more harm than good. In "Wounded by God's People: Discovering How God's Love Heals Our Hearts ” the author uses biblical examples of how people inadvertently hurt others.
Using the story of Hagar as a focal point Mrs. Lotz is able to share her own memories of hurts caused by religious individuals. Daughter of  Reverend Billy Graham it is surprising to think that she and her husband were voted out of a church in which they had been associated with for more than 15 years. Like Hagar we can be placed in circumstances beyond our control subjected to the pain of rejection inflicted by religious leaders.
Most people do not believe they are hurting others which is why this book is important for all believers. Like the members of the church in which Anne Graham Lotz and her husband attended, they believed they were doing the right thing.
I recommend “Wounded by God's People: Discovering How God's Love Heals Our Hearts ” it is a book worth purchasing and sharing.

DARK RULE

It is true that I have become bias when it comes to books written by D. I. Telbat, however, as with any book in a series there is an expectation from the reader that each book has to be better than the last and I have enjoyed the Coil Series thus far, though perhaps not as exciting as the first (nothing really is) it is still a good read.
“Dark Rule” the third book in the Coil Series by D. I. Telbat can better be appreciated if you have read” “Dark Liaison” and “DarkHearted” (books one and two respectively).  Since “Dark Vessel” will be released sometime this year I think it would be well worth the reader getting all three books now.
I have come to think of the Coil series as the “mission impossible” for Christians. The mission in this book  is to rescue Chen Li a COIL agent from the hands of evil.  Commission of International Laborers, a group of Christian individuals trained in to fight the powers of darkness in a non-deadly fashion use their skill on the most dangerous of places around the most violent people.
As with the other books in the series “Dark Rule” by D. I. Telbat is entertaining, suspenseful and suitable for all readers. It does not contain sex or extreme violence. Because this is the 3rd in a series the end becomes anti-climatic yet unlike the other books I was able to reflect on the bigger picture which is the plight of Christians throughout the world who do not have the freedom to worship openly.
Despite my obvious bias I do recommend you read this book.  Though the reader will be able to follow the story without purchasing the first two in the series there will be a better appreciation for the essence of the series (the difficulties of Christian missionaries) if each book is read.
Though the book is available via Amazon I would highly recommend you download this eBook via SMASHWORDS
